I am a huge fan of model based testing, but unfortunately have not had much opportunity to implement it. Even so, I try to keep up with the trends. Here is a Google video about model based testing. Enjoy.

Distributed Deployment and Testing
January 28, 2008 by Isaac
I love Google videos. They have many great videos about software testing by some of the most renowned software testers in the industry. A couple weeks ago, while looking for new software testing videos, I stumbled on something called SmartFrog. SmartFrog was designed to be a distributed deployment system, but it can [...]
Fools and Their Tools
January 16, 2008 by Isaac
This blog post about The Incapability Immaturity Model hit way too close to home. A former professor of mine used to say that “a fool with a tool is still a fool.”
I used to work for a company that at the beginning of a project they would spend months on documentation. A full [...]
Quantifying the value of testing
January 13, 2008 by Isaac
I love the fact that Google publishes videos of some of their meetings. This talk, by Lee Copeland, is about proving our worth as testers. I’ve seen Lee speak in person at another event and quite enjoyed him.

The Dreaded Software Rewrite
August 11, 2006 by Isaac
This article hit way too close to home. This is EXACTLY what happened to my current project. The powers that be thought it would be a great idea to not only rewrite major portions of our code base, but they thought that they might as well change all the system interfaces and add [...]
Creating PDF’s in Python
July 25, 2006 by Isaac
Whatever your role or occupation there are doubtless times where you need to write a report. Most of the reports that I turn in are unique and need to be manually generated. However, my weekly test status report is pretty much the same every week and basically its just the stats that change.
Poking [...]

July 20, 2006 by Isaac
One of the great things about being Test Lead is all the paperwork associated with the position (can you sense my sarcasm?). I’ve spent most of the last week working on test plans and test schedules. Since I have never enjoyed paperwork this is especially painful.
In creating a test plan I have really [...]
